Privacy Policy
The short version: we don't track you. No cookies, no analytics, no ad tech — not because a law made us, but because it's incompatible with what this app is for. Here's the long version, in plain language.
- No cookies — not analytics cookies, not even "necessary" ones.
- No analytics, no Google Fonts, no Google Analytics or Tag Manager, no Meta Pixel, no third-party scripts of any kind.
- No ad tech, no data brokers, no selling or renting anything about you to anyone.
- No accounts, no names, no emails required to use the card system itself.
- No user profiling, no behavioral tracking, no fingerprinting.
Why this isn't optional for us
AfterCare exists to make one specific, hard conversation easier: telling someone, anonymously, that they may have been exposed to an STI. That only works if people actually trust it — and trust collapses the moment a health app starts quietly building a profile of who you are, who you've been with, or what you searched for.
A lot of consumer health and wellness apps run on an ad-funded or data-broker model: your usage becomes the product, sold on or used to target you. For a sexual-health tool specifically, that's not just a bad look — it's the kind of thing that gets someone outed, stigmatized, or worse. A surveillance-economy business model is simply incompatible with what we're trying to do here, so it's not part of how AfterCare is built or governed. We're not funded by ads or data sales, and we're not going to be — see how we actually fund this instead.
What we can't make disappear
We want to be precise here rather than make a claim that sounds good but isn't quite true: like any website, this one runs on a server, and a server necessarily sees the IP address of whoever requests a page — that's just how the web works, not something AfterCare adds on top. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived technical access logs for operating and securing the service (the same baseline every legitimate host keeps).
What we don't do with that: analyze it, build profiles from it, combine it with anything else about you, or hand it to advertisers. It's infrastructure, not analytics.
Built and hosted in Europe
AfterCare is hosted on European infrastructure, built by a European team, under European data-protection norms — not routed through US-based ad-tech or cloud analytics platforms. That's a deliberate choice, not a default: it keeps the whole stack, not just the privacy policy, aligned with the promise above.
Open source
You don't have to take our word for any of this — the code behind AfterCare is open source, so anyone can read exactly what it does and doesn't do.
